Motivating story for Saisha “ united we stand and divided we fall “

"LIFE BEGINS HERE AGAIN "

There are thousand of stories which our parents and grand parents always used to tell me , during our childhood to motivate and inculcate good habits in our personality .one such story my grandpa told very often when I was in the habit of quarreling with my sister for petty small things like exchanging our dresses or any thing of common interest to both of us , Moral of the story which taught me a lesson of my life  is very close to my heart , I am repeating it here .

There was a farmer living in a village who had five sons , all grown up and married but always had differences amongst them selves .and always kept on fighting on trivial things . Despite their father always preaching them not to fight unnecessarily and waste their strength , But the sons were a kind of stubborn and determined not to hear and advice from their father , that made farmer father very upset seeing bleak future of his family and farmlands , All of a sudden He fell seriously sick and Doctors advised him complete rest else he may die any time soon because of worries and heart problems. Sons were equally concerned and came to attend their father to enquire if They could do any thing for him to save him ?

Farmer stared at their faces to be assured if they meant what they were saying . Then he asked his elder son to take out a bundle of sticks which he had kept underneath his bed , bundle had five sticks tied to each other tightly with a rope . Son surprisingly asked what we have to do with this bundle of sticks and what does it mean to us ?

Farmer then asked his elder son to break this bundle of sticks without untying it . Every one tried turn wise to break the bundle of five sticks with full force but did not succeed in breaking it . Farmer noticed his sons getting frustrated on their unsuccessful attempts in breaking the wooden stick bundle . Then he asked his youngest son to open the rope and untie the bundle and asked him to give one stick each to his other four sons as well . Now break it , every one broke the stick very easily and smiled for their strength .

Farmer then started telling them this is not a feat or achievement , each stick individually is not that strong so it broke , Now you take your own case you are five brothers , if I die how will you survive the cruel world around you ? If you remain united like that bundle of sticks ,and stop fighting and cursing each other no one ever will dare to touch you or break you or harm you , but the moment you are severed and become one individual , every body will take for granted that you are weak and very easy to be defeated and harmed .

All the five brothers fell on their father’s feat started crying ,and realized their follies for not listening to their father before .Farmer asked his sons what moral you got from the story as you are crying now ?

Our dear dad we all have got the message in your story that
“ united we stand and divided we fall “
In future we promise we will never fight and will always remain united as no body will be able to  succeed in harming us . Hearing this heartfelt statement from his sons , Farmer was very happy and took his last breath leaving his sons crying with tears in their eyes ,

Moral and Lesson in the story is “ always remain united if you want to tide over dangers to your existence

ADABI SANGAM--- MEET # 520

Bahar -- spring ---Nazar -- palken

Relevane and origin of valentine day (valentine day material)

"LIFE BEGINS HERE AGAIN "
I am R.K Nagpal

Don't feel bad or either offended if I just narrate few events from History about our Valentine, a day of romance really? which are in public domains and anyone can research and understand what the reality is, But the problem is we just keep on following in this rat race without even applying our minds once, ok let it be the easiest way to live and enjoy?

The History of Valentine's day and the story of St. Valentine is folded around mystery and secrecy.. St. Valentine's day trails its significance from both Christians and ancient Roman traditions. But you wonder who was St. Valentine and what’s the story behind the celebration?

The Romans used to celebrate the feast of Lupercalia from February 13 to 15, in which men sacrificed a dog and a goat. After this, the hides of the slain animals were used by men to whip women.?
is it love for a valentine and hurting someone cant be love, In fact, young women even lined up to be whipped by men due to their belief that this made them more fertile. What to say about these illogical and unscientific beliefs

Though no one has pinpointed the exact origin of the holiday, one good place to start is ancient Rome, where men hit on women with leather ropes made from slain animals, well women the valentines accepted this ritual as necessary to get a good groom,

Now During the celebrations, a matchmaking lottery was also held and men picked out names of women from a box and proceeded to profess their love to these women during the festival. This sometimes also culminated in a marriage.

However, This Lupercalia kind of love celebration was later changed to St Valentine’s Day by the end of the 5th century by Pope Gelasius, and this led to Valentine’s Day being associated with romance as well as the beginning of love. But why this name valentine?
Valentine’s Day: History of its name

St valentine as a priest of the church was performing marriages. He defied Claudius II against his order of no marriage as men were needed for army .but he continued his service of performing marriages of lovers in secret. When Claudius II came to know about Valentine, he ordered to put St.Valentine to death for going against the emperor.

Another legend suggests that Valentine was killed by the order of the emperor because he was helping Christians to escape from harsh and cruel roman prisons. While he was imprisoned Valentine sent the first “valentine” greeting to his lover who was a young girl, speculated to be the jailor’s daughter. The girl used to visit him during the confinement and both of them fell in love with each other.

According to a legend, st. valentine refused to leave Christianity and accept paganism. Roman emperor Claudius 2 executed him. It is said that before his death, somehow he befriended the jailer’s daughter and healed her from the blind world. She converted to Christianity along with her family. Before his execution, he wrote her the last letter and signed it writing “From your Valentine” which became an expression of love later.

All the stories and legends are uncanny but the stories do accent as sympathetic, heroic and above all symbolises the heroic figure. And by the Middle Ages, Valentine became one of the most popular heroic saints in England and France.

In India, this marriage facilitation job is still being done by many priests and pandits in the temples from matchmaking to performing complete rituals in temples, gurdwaras, itself .and some marriages are coordinated through the matchmaker middlemen and women too, but no one is as famous as an st valentine,?

you know why because countries under the control of Christianity encashed this as a business opportunity, By killing st valentine by the emperor, st valentine became the hero of young men and women who started remembering him as their messiah leaving a business opportunity for clever minds to fill in, They expanded valentines day further by seven days

Valentine’s Week begins on February 7, that is a week before Valentine’s Day, and this year, it’ was Sunday.

February 7 is Rose Day,___________ To help rose growers
followed by Propose Day on February 8.
Chocolate Day falls on February 9,
and February 10 marks Teddy Day.
Promise Day falls on February 11,
with Hug Day on February 12,
and Kiss Day on February 13.
The week finally culminates with Valentine’s Day. On the 14th of February, huge sales take place to boost the economy.

However, the week building up to Valentine’s Day is no less exciting, and each day comes with its own aspect of the expression of love, with one of them even being dedicated to people who wish to pop the question to their significant other!
young couples are keeping the fire alive and remembering a priest is another business angle added to it

And for the unversed, we further dig down into history and find out the reason behind this tradition and the festival of love during spring.? and why not in other seasons?

In the mid 18th century, people used to exchange handwritten notes of affection to their loved ones on Valentine’s Day but they were soon converted into printed cards due to advancement in print media. giving a huge boost to the printing industry

The valentine gifts include candies, red roses as the symbol of love. This is the most popular festival in the US, Britain, Canada, and Australia. Other countries like Argentina, Mexico, France, South Korea, etc also celebrate this day with high zeal. This is the most common wedding day in the Philippines where one can witness mass weddings of hundreds of couples.

Today, we can see the huge craze of valentine’s day among youngsters. They eagerly wait for this day to celebrate with their lovers. The full stocked gift shops, flower shops with the symbol of love can be seen everywhere.

The parks full of couples holding hands and going for outings are a common sight on valentine’s day though there is a believe that Valentine’s Day is celebrated to commemorate and remember the death anniversary of Saint Valentine, some believers suggest that the Christian Church would have decided to place St Valentine’s feast day to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia which is a fertility festival dedicated to the Roman god of agriculture ‘Faunus’. logics apart people around the world have embraced it without going into details of it and start following it as to enjoy and make merry with their girlfriends called valentines.

What every legend says, today we all celebrate the middle of the February month as the season of love and romance is a universal truth, whatever be the underlying truth .while remembering now immortal Saint Valentine priest of lovers first choice.

As every country have different cultures and traditions, let us have a look at some of the countries and their tradition on Valentine’s day. According to another legend, this valentine’s day is celebrated in the name of a bishop called the saint valentine of Terni. He was also executed.

This saint use to wear a cupid ring on his finger. This cupid ring was his identity and he use to greet people with paper heart greetings to remind people of their love for God. This is the reason that he became the patron of love. He use to pair lovers and the couple remembers their devotion to God.

The same was depicted by the famous medieval author Geoffrey Chaucer In his writing in 1381 and this was also considered as the origin of modern-day celebrations of Valentine’s day.

Valentine’s day is not immune to tragedy. In 1929, Chicago faced a huge massacre on February 14th. Al Capone gang killed 7 men and this was parked as the flashpoint in prohibition period history. Police and lawmakers chased gangs and mobs to control the illegal smuggling of Alcohol.
